vSOC Detect now integrates with CrowdStrike Falcon by leveraging the Falcon Connect API to ingest Falcon host data into the vSOC Detect monitoring platform. This integration enables vSOC Detect to leverage the CrowdStrike platform for endpoint monitoring and allows analysts to correlate endpoint data against SIEM security logs. This added correlation within our SIEM enables active hunting by vSOC Detect analysts to discover new and emerging threats in customer environments.

Meet the Presenters

Stephen Jones - Director of Managed Services, GuidePoint Security

Stephen Jones has more than 10 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity within the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. His primary focus has been Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND).

Prior to joining GuidePoint Security, he was the Operations Lead for the Intelligence Community’s Security Coordination Center (IC SCC), where he designed and implemented an enterprise cybersecurity organization responsible for maintaining and providing actionable situational awareness of cybersecurity threats, trends, and vulnerabilities.

Stephen created functional and organizational teams, roles, and responsibilities to achieve optimum performance and efficiency, as well as to achieve and exceed organizational goals and milestones. For three years he also worked as a civilian at a large IC agency where, starting in an IA role, he built an enterprise vulnerability management program before moving on to accept the role of Deputy Chief of Computer Network Defense. In this role, he focused on rebuilding and strengthening the agency’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Kris Merritt - Senior Director, Hunting Operations, CrowdStrike

Kris Merritt leads CrowdStrike's internal and external hunting programs. He started CrowdStrike's hunting service in 2012 and continues to lead it at a programmatic level today.

Kris has more than 10 years of experience in cybersecurity and network defense, mainly in leadership roles of security operations, incident response, digital forensics, signature development, indicator management, and tactical tool development within large enterprise networks.

Kris has a special interest in security orchestration, automation, and culture and has applied related philosophies to build lean-but-powerful security operations teams.
