Robert Darwin, Senior Director of Security Engineering at GuidePoint Security, began his career in IT operations and support, briefly moving into application development before transitioning to application security where he has been focused for the last ten years.  His professional experience includes strategic leadership with program development specializing in Application & Software Security, Open-Source Security, Vulnerability Management, and DevSecOps maturity. Robert leads the North Central region Application Security and DevSecOps Practice delivering product-centric engineering and consulting services, including program development, tooling integration and automation, as well as many other customizable professional and managed service capabilities. Robert is a huge proponent of developer enablement and self-service, by embedding security controls and product capabilities through automation directly into the development workflow, and empowering engineering teams to build security in while optimizing the secure software development lifecycle
